October 28 [7:55 EDT] — It looks like another posthumous release from the late rapper Tupac Shakur will arrive in time for the holidays. Jive Records says that on November 25 it will release a new double album from Shakur called „Are You Still Down, Remember Me.“
Jive will actually be distributing the album for Amaru Records, the label formed by Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur.
The album will contain tracks that had been in the vaults of Tupac’s last label, Death Row Records. Afeni Shakur sued Death Row to gain control of those tracks.
The album’s first single, „I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto,“ is on its way to radio stations right now.
Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas in September of 1996, but his career has lived on as a steady stream of music and movie projects that Shakur completed before his death have been released in the last year.
