September 10 [16:00 EDT] — Orlando Anderson, the man Compton police believe fatally shot Tupac Shakur a year ago, has filed a lawsuit against Tupac and imprisoned Death Row CEO Suge Knight.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, follows through on an assault and battery complaint Anderson filed earlier this year.
He claims Shakur and Knight can be seen beating him in a hotel security tape shot at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas just hours before Tupac was shot.
Anderson is seeking damages to be determined at trial.
Las Vegas police say they think they know who killed Tupac, but doubt they’ll ever get enough witnesses to prosecute the case.
