November 14 [7:55 EDT] — As we reported earlier this week, Puff Daddy kicked off his „No Way Out“ tour last week, and fans who have turned out for the show know that it’s packed with tributes to the Notorious B.I.G.
They also know that Puffy also pulls out a rather surprising tribute to Biggie’s sometime antagonist Tupac Shakur. During his set, Puff Daddy leads the audience in a version of Tupac’s „Hail Mary“ from the slain rapper’s posthumous „Makaveli“ album.
The forgive-and-forget attitude towards Tupac apparently does not extend to the city of Los Angeles, where the Notorious B.I.G. was murdered. L.A. is the only major city which was left off the tour itinerary.
„We“re not gonna do L.A. just because of personal feelings of mine,“ Puffy told MTV News of the decision. „I mean, I love all the fans in L.A. I love all the people in L.A. I can’t blame L.A. for… I ain’t got no hard feelings with Los Angeles. I go there a lot myself, but I’m traveling with a group of people, and everybody here has mothers and fathers and kids and stuff like that, and I just really can’t guarantee nothing almost nowhere. I would never want to make the same… go through the same thing twice, or see the same mistake happen.“
Puffy’s „No Way Out“ tour plays Worcester, Massachusetts on Friday, and makes a big appearance on this week’s edition of the „The Week In Rock“ which will feature a full report on the tour.
